Philadelphia Kicks Off Pride Month with Major Celebrations

As June arrives, Philadelphia is ready to launch its Pride Month festivities with the much-anticipated pride march and festival on Sunday, June 1, 2025. The city will celebrate the beginning of Pride Month with a vibrant event featuring the largest Progress Pride flag in the nation, measuring an impressive 600 feet in length—an eye-catching sight exceeding the length of an entire block in Center City.

Festival Highlights

This year’s Pride Festival promises an array of attractions, including various themed zones tailored to different interests, ensuring an inclusive experience for all attendees. Among these are:

  • Sober Zone: A designated area for those seeking a substance-free experience.
  • Family-Friendly Space: Engaging events such as drag story time for children and families.
  • Performance Areas: Multiple stages showcasing a diverse lineup of performers and artists.

March Route and Timing

The Philadelphia Pride March is set to commence at 10 a.m. from the intersection of 6th and Walnut streets. Marchers will step off an hour later, proceeding along the following route:

The march is anticipated to conclude by noon, creating a festive atmosphere in the city streets.

Traffic and Parking Restrictions

To accommodate the large crowds and ensure public safety, several streets will be closed from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday. These closures include:

  • Juniper Street from Walnut to Cypress
  • Cypress from Juniper to 12th
  • 13th Street from Walnut to Pine
  • 12th Street from Walnut to Pine
  • 11th Street from Pine to Spruce
  • Walnut from Broad to 11th
  • Locust from Broad to 11th
  • Pine from Broad to 11th
  • Spruce from Broad to 11th

In addition, all listed streets will implement temporary “no parking” regulations from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. Vehicles parked in these zones may be towed, so it’s advised to check with local authorities if your vehicle has been relocated.
