Tragic Loss: Actor Jonathan Joss Shot Dead

In a shocking incident, actor Jonathan Joss, best known for voicing John Redcorn in the critically acclaimed animated series King of the Hill, was tragically shot dead recently. This event has left family, friends, and fans mourning the loss of a talented performer at the age of 59.

Joss’s husband, Tristan Kern de Gonzales, claims that the shooting was a hate crime motivated by homophobia, though local law enforcement officials in Texas reported that there is currently no evidence supporting this assertion.

Details of the Incident

The tragic event unfolded while the couple visited a site that previously housed their home, which had been destroyed by a fire earlier in January. According to Gonzales, a man approached them, spewing violent homophobic slurs before opening fire.

“We had no weapons; we were not provoking anyone,” Gonzales recounted on his Facebook page. “We were grieving, standing side by side when he attacked. Jonathan pushed me out of the way, saving my life.”

The couple had reportedly faced months of harassment, with Gonzales revealing that they endured threats to set their home ablaze prior to its destruction.

Immediate Aftermath

When police arrived on the scene in San Antonio, they found Joss on the ground after receiving reports of gunfire. Authorities have since arrested a suspect, Sigfredo Alvarez Ceja, and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

The San Antonio Police Department emphasized their commitment to thoroughly investigate the allegations surrounding Joss’s murder. “Should any new evidence come to light, the suspect will be charged accordingly,” the department stated.

The entertainment community has come together to mourn Joss’s untimely passing. Actor Nick Offerman, who starred alongside Joss in Parks and Recreation, expressed his condolences, stating to People, “Jonathan was such a sweet guy, and we loved having him as our Chief Ken Hotate. The creators of King of the Hill, Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, issued a heartfelt statement, saying, “His voice will be missed at King of the Hill, and we extend our deepest condolences to Jonathan’s friends and family.”
